SUMMARY:Day Hike To Ramapo Torne
DESCRIPTION:Troop 37 took a strenuous but beautiful five-mile day hike in the southwest part of Harriman State Park on Sunday\, April 26 to Ramapo Torne.  Scouts took turns leading the Troop on the Seven Hills Trail with guidance of adult leaders for meeting requirements necessary for Scout rank advancement.  \nWe departed from the Reeves Meadow Information Center on Seven Lakes Drive\, a short drive from Sloatsburg\, and ascended about 300 feet up the Seven Hills Trail. After crossing several streams the trail steepened considerably  to a rock scramble to the summit of Ramapo Torne.  \nViews from the top of Ramapo Torne were spectacular!  To the north we could see Tuxedo\, to the southwest  we could see Suffern and the junction of the New York State Thruway and I-287 into New Jersey\, and to the southeast New York City.  We then climbed a second mountain before a long descent back Reeves Meadow.    \n The photo shows Troop 37 participants at the Torne View summit along the Seven Hills Trail in Harriman State Park.

SUMMARY:The Great American Camporee
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and establishment of the United States\, Troop 37 participated in the Grand American Camporee: “ Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Scouting” at Thomas Bull Park in Montgomery\, New York on Friday\, May 1 to Sunday\, May 3. The Camporee was attended by 650 scouts and 300 volunteers from the Hudson Valley Scout Council. \nScouts explored themed stations\, games and exhibits\, and participated in hands- on activities that highlighted American ingenuity\, service leadership and citizenship.  Activities connected historic events to the values of Scouting\, while emphasizing fellowship with other scout troops from the Greater Hudson Valley Council. \nIn the tradition of service\, leadership and fun\, Troop 37 ran the fishing station. Over 300 scouts went fishing\, with 15 confirmed catches\, including bass\, bluegills and even a 5-inch aquatic snail! \n  \nTroop 37 scouts and leaders camped as a troop\, and were joined by Troop 33 from Nanuet for campfires on Friday and Saturday nights. \n
